Selamat pagi everyone!  We’ve got lots of stories happening this term.

Receptions will be starting their first text called ‘SpongeBob’.  Through this story students will be able to recognise the verbs wants, has, gives, eats and drinks.  We will also be using lots of cognates such as jus, apel, sosis and donut!

 

SpongeBob

SpongeBob mau crabby patty.

Patrick punya crabby patty.

Patrick kasih crabby patty.

SpongeBob makan crabby patty.

Other year levels will be doing two texts this term.  The first one is called ‘Batman’ which I have written myself.  It is just an extended version of SpongeBob so that I could get the words mau, punya, kasih, makan and minum taught for students who hadn’t been in my class before.  For the younger year levels this story was modified slightly.

 

Batman

Ada laki-laki.  Nama dia Batman.

Batman tinggal di Gotham city.

Batman lapar sekali.  Batman mau makan pizza.

Ada laki-laki.  Nama dia Joker.

Joker tinggal di Gotham City juga.

Joker nakal tetapi dia pandai masak pizza.

Joker punya restoran pizza.

Joker punya banyak pizza.

 

Batman pergi ke restoran Joker.

Batman berkata ‘Saya mau makan pizza.’

Joker kasih Batman satu pizza.

Batman makan pizza.  Batman berkata ‘Saya masih lapar.’

Joker kasih Batman sepuluh pizza.

Batman makan pizza.  Batman berkata ‘Saya masih lapar.’

Joker kasih Batman seratus pizza.

Batman makan seratus pizza.  Batman berkata ‘Saya sakit.’

Sekarang Joker boss Gotham City dan Batman fat man di rumah sakit!

 

There is a boy.  His name is Batman.

Batman lives in Gotham city.

Batman is very hungry.  Batman wants to eat pizza.

There is a boy.  His name is Joker.

Joker lives in Gotham city too.

Joker is naught but he is clever at cooking pizza.

Joker has a pizza restaurant.

Joker has lots of pizza.

 

Batman goes to Joker’s restaurant.

Batman says ‘I want to eat pizza.’

Joker gives Batman one pizza.

Batman eats one pizza.  Batman says ‘I’m still hungry.’

Joker gives Batman ten pizzas.

Batman eats ten pizzas. Batman says ‘I’m still hungry.’

Joker gives Batman one hundred pizzas.

Batman eats one hundred pizzas.  Batman says ‘I’m sick.’

Now Joker is the boss of Gotham City and Batman is a fat man in the hospital!

 

With these stories students will be able to show comprehension through acting, drawing, translating, recognising and responding to questions, and using the vocab learnt and relating it back to themselves and their environment.
