Term 2 2018

This term Receptions will begin to learn Indonesian using the Teaching with Comprehensible Input (TCI) method.  Their learning will be based around a short story called Spongebob.

The Year 1/2s will be revising and extending their existing vocab with the story ‘Buaya Lapar’.  Then they will continue on with a story called ‘Saya bisa.’

Ada buaya.  Buaya lapar.  Buaya pergi ke sekolah.

Buaya lihat Monyet.  Monyet punya satu sate.

Buaya mau makan sate.  Monyet kasih sate.

Buaya makan satu sate.  Buaya berkata ‘Saya lapar!’

 

Buaya pergi ke Woolies.

Buaya lihat Santa.  Santa punya dua mangga.

Buaya mau makan mangga.  Santa kasih mangga.

Buaya makan dua mangga.  Buaya berkata ‘Saya lapar!’

 

Buaya pergi ke train playground.

Buaya lihat Lighenting McQueen.  Lightening McQueen punya tiga pizza.

Buaya mau makan pizza.  Lightening McQueen kasih pizza.

Buaya makan tiga pizza.  Buaya berkata ‘Saya lapar!’

 

Buaya pergi ke Granite Island.

Buaya lihat Peppa Pig.  Peppa Pig punya empat es krim.

Buaya makan empat es krim.  Buaya berkata ‘Saya lapar!’

Buaya lihat Queen.  Queen punya lima coklat.

Buaya mau makan coklat.  Queen kasih coklat.

Buaya makan satu coklat.  Buaya berkata ‘Saya sakit!’

Queen makan empat coklat.  Queen senang sekali.

 

Crocodile is hungry

There is a crocodile.  Crocodile is hungry.  Crocodile goes to school.

Crocodile sees Monkey.  Monkey has one satay.

Crocodile wants to eat satay.  Monkey gives the satay.

Crocodile eats one satay.  Crocodile says ‘I’m hungry!’

 

Crocodile goes to Woolies.

Crocodile sees Santa.  Santa has two mangoes.

Crocodile wants to eat mango.  Santa gives the mangoes.

Crocodile eats two mangoes.  Crocodile says ‘I’m hungry!’

 

Crocodile goes to the train playground.

Crocodile sees Lighenting McQueen.  Lighenting McQueen has three pizzas.

Crocodile wants to eat pizza.  Lighenting McQueen gives the pizzas.

Crocodile eats three pizzas.  Crocodile says ‘I’m hungry!’

 

Crocodile goes to Granite Island.

Crocodile sees Peppa Pig.  Peppa Pig has four ice creams.

Crocodile wants to eat ice cream.  Peppa Pig gives the ice creams.

Crocodile sees the Queen.  The Queen has five chocolates.

Crocodile wants to eat chocolate.  The Queen gives the chocolates.

Crocodile eats one chocolate.  Crocodile says ‘I’m sick!’

The Queen eats four chocolates.  The Queen is very happy.

 

Saya bisa!

Lihat!  Superman bisa terbang.  Aduh!  Saya tidak bisa terbang.

Dengar!  Elsa bisa menyanyi.  Aduh!  Saya tidak bisa menyanyi.

Lihat!  Justin Beiber bisa berdansa.  Aduh!  Saya tidak bisa berdansa.

Lihat!  Eddie Betts bisa bermain football.  Aduh!  Saya tidak bisa bermain football.

Lihat!  Dory bisa berenang.  Aduh!  Saya tidak bisa berenang.

Lihat!  Steph Curry bisa melempar.  Aduh!  Saya tidak bisa melempar.

Dengar!  Saya bisa Bahasa Indonesia.   ASTAGA!

 

I can!

Look!  Superman can fly.  Oh!  I can’t fly.

Listen! I can speak Indonesian.  Oh my gosh!

 

For the older year levels, learning will be based around a text by Anne McKelvie called ‘Murid Nakal.’

 

Murid Nakal

Kelas Ibu Ball pergi ke kelas bahasa Indonesia.

Ada satu perempuan di kelas Ibu Ball, nama perempuan Quackers. 

Quackers nakal tetapi pandai.

Ibu Sharon berkata ‘Kelas Ibu Ball duduk.’

Kelas Ibu Ball pandai dengar dan duduk.

Quackers nakal.  Quackers tidak duduk.  Quackers berdansa!

Ibu Sharon marah dan berkata ‘Astaga!’

 

Ibu Sharon berkata ‘Kelas Ibu Ball ambil topi dan pakai.’

Kelas Ibu Ball pandai dengar.  Kelas Ibu Ball ambil topi dan pakai.

Quackers nakal.  Quackers ambil topi dan melempar!

Ibu Sharon marah dan berkata ‘Astaga!’

 

Ibu Ball pergi ke kelas Bahasa Indonesia.

Ibu Ball lihat Ibu Sharon marah!

Ibu Ball lihat kelas duduk dan diam.

Ibu Ball lihat Quackers.  Quackers menyanyi!

Ibu Ball marah!  Ibu Ball berkata ‘Astaga!  Quackers nakal!  Ayo!’

Ibu Ball pakai hammer.

Kelas menghitung 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 bersama-sama.

 

The Naughty Student

Ms Ball’s class goes to Indonesian class.

There is one girl in Ms Ball’s class, the girl’s name is Quackers.

Quackers is naughty but clever.

Ibu Sharon says ‘Ms Ball’s class sit.’

Ms Ball’s class is clever at listening and sits.

Quackers is naughty.  Quackers does not sit.  Quackers dances!

Ibu Sharon is mad and says ‘Oh my gosh!’

 

Ibu Sharon says ‘Ms Ball’s class take you hat and wear it.’

Ms Ball’s class is clever.  Ms Ball’s class takes their hats and wears them.

Quackers is naughty.  Quackers takes her hat and throws it!

Ibu Sharon is mad and says ‘Oh my gosh!’

 

Ms Ball comes to Indonesian.

Ms Ball sees Ibu Sharon is mad.

Ms Ball sees the class sitting and quiet.

Ms Ball sees Quackers.  Quackers is singing!

Ms Ball is mad!  Ms Ball says ‘Oh my gosh!  Quackers is naughty.  Come!’

Ms Ball uses a hammer.

The class counts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 together.
